Winter is coming!!!
Fall in Denver
Everyone was saying how quickly the fall colors would change so I've tried to enjoy the changing colors of the leaves as much as I can. The weather here is wild...warm one day and then it can drop 30 degrees over night!

Hanging with the boys in Seattle
James had a chance to escape to Washington for a week for boy time with some of his good friends, Chris Doggett and Josh Fultz. They were busy and on the go, enjoying the Pike's Place Fish Market, sailing on the Pudget Sound, climbing to base camp at Mt. Rainier, and cruising around the city. They had sunshine the entire time!

Cali Express!
Meet Cali, the puppy who spent a day with us and made us love her! My brother, Troy, and his girlfriend, Andrea, bought a European Golden Retriever from a breeder in Colorado. They life in California, though, so James and I got to participate in the process of adoption and had such fun! We chose Cali from the litter when she was 4 weeks old, then a month later we picked her up and put her on the plane to ship her to California. However, in the 24 hours between pick up and drop off she spent her time with us and made us smile and giggle in great ways!

Our summer in pictures
Here's some of the highlights of our summer exploration in Colorado! We're heading into fall and the chilly weather is creeping in. No snow in Denver yet, but there's been some in the mountains. We hope you are well!
We got bikes! We took them to Breckenridge to explore mountain trails. Such fun!
Hiking around Mt. Evans, one of the 14,000 ft. mountains in Colorado. On a clear day it is supposed to have one of the best views. We were freezing because of the wind. The mountain goats hang around the top of Mt. Evans and are not spooked by visitors.

Cruising around Idaho Springs, a small mining town near Mt. Evans.
My parents came for a visit and we met them in Winter Park and then spent the afternoon in a small town named Golden. Top on my mom's list was visiting the gravesite of Buffalo Bill, which also included a stop off in the museum. That's were the wild west picture comes in...my favorite part is my dad in the background! ha!

One of the high priorities on our list once arriving in Fort Collins was to do a brewery tour of the New Belgium brewery (producer of Fat Tire beer, among many other yummy ones). Unfortunately it was closed the day we were there so the closest we got to the brewery was sitting on this bike next to the sign.
We camped and fished for the 4th of July. We found this beautiful reservoir near Winter Park. It was so peaceful and quiet. I caught a little brown trout!

Red Rocks Amphitheater

Here are a few photos from the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, well known among Colorado folks and music lovers around the country, as one of the best places to see live music. Red Rocks is 15 miles west of Denver and is an open-air music venue. The seating is nestled between two 300-foot sandstone rocks that make for incredible acoustics and a beautiful venue. We have been hoping to find a concert to go to at Red Rocks this summer, but so far have been there for hiking during the day and for "Film on the Rocks". This is a summer event where they have a mini-concert and show a movie. We saw Office Space, a great movie to see with hundreds of people! For those of you who've seen the movie, you'll appreciate that we got to watch a live stage version of the scene where they beat up the fax machine...good fun.
